stop snoring medications
There are many medications available on the market today to help individuals stop snoring. However, since people don’t always understand what is causing their snoring, they often reach for a less than ideal medicine to address their specific snoring problem, and are disappointed when results are sub par. In the search for a medication to help stop snoring, you need to select one based on the cause of your problem, and not the symptom of snoring itself.
The most common and effective type of product to eliminate obnoxious snoring habits are nose drops that coat the back of the throat. Most people’s snoring problems are somehow related to the vibration of the soft tissue that resides there, and by coating it with lubrications you are essentially encouraging them to tighten up in a way that is not conducive to snoring. Even if nose drops don’t completely eliminate the problem, they usually do a decent job of deadening the sound to acceptable levels.
If nose drops aren’t working as well as you would like, then your snoring problem may be located deeper in your throat below the top of the tongue in places like the uvula or tonsils. For this, it is recommended to use a throat spray as opposed to nose drops. They essentially function the same way by lubricating the muscles and encouraging them to tighten up more, but one may be more effective than the other due to the location or source of the snoring sound.
While there is no guarantee that either of these solutions will work for any one person’s snoring issues, they will usually have at least some noticeable effect that the problem is not as bad as it was when completely untreated. If you are still having trouble with snoring after trying these methods, consider trying non-medicines such as nose strips or mouthpieces, and if you are still suffering that unbearable snoring sound, consult a ear, nose, and throat doctor.
